To manage the day-to-day and longterm maintenance of the school, under the direction and incoordination with the School Operations Manager.

In conjunction with School Operations Manager, develop asystem for cleaning, repair and maintenance of school facilities,both during term time and over school holidays for majoroperations.
Coordinate all buildingmaintenance issues ensuring that safety and security systems are inplace and maintained according to the Preventive MaintenanceSchedule and that the water, sanitation and electrical systems aresafe and meet relevant Ministry Regulations.
Assess the current condition of electrical, air conditioning,plumbing and other essential facilities and equipment, ensuringregular maintenance and service schedules are followed.
Liaise with procurement team to consolidate all annualmaintenance contracts and maintain the expected quality from allsuppliers.
In conjunction with the SchoolOperations Manager, coordinate and supervise, where appropriate,the allocation of work, and formulation of work schedules ofancillary employees and subcontractor personnel to ensure adequatecoverage at all times.
Supervise the day today operations of the allocated support staff accommodationfacility ensuring that residents’ welfare is maintainedat all times and that all legal, HSE and related policies areadhered to thereby providing a safe and secure environment for theresidents.
Be on call for staff and campusemergencies.
Receive all repair andmaintenance requests from staff relating to the school building,staff housing and campus facilities in general.
Prioritize andcoordinate work schedules to a high level of efficiency andcustomer satisfaction.
Coordinate theschool’s transportation requirements to ensure that allstudents and employees are transported to and from the school in asafe and effective manner.
Supervise the STSschool representative and transport foreman to ensure the provisionof a high level of service to parents.
Tosupport the school admin team in improving the adherence to theGEMS school policies on procurement.
Advisedisposal / condemnation of old / unused assets in a timely mannerand in line with the assets disposal policy, and encourageprocurement automation system and support to implement the systemin GEMS at the earliest possible.
Assist andco-ordinate through the School Operations Manager to ensure thathealth, safety and hygiene mechanisms are effective so as toprovide a safe environment for students.
The guide lines fromgovernment authorities with regards to health and safety are to beeffectively communicated to schools and ensure the schools followit without fail.
