Job Description

Our client is a joint venture created to establish thefirst of its kind fully regulated, crypto assest exchange andcustodian in the region that focuses on institutional and retailinvestors.

  • This role is within Custody andSettlement Team. This team is responsible for the post trademanagement of all trades for the organisation'
  • s custodialand clearing services. The group has interactions with multiplebusiness units and is responsible for custody and settlement of allthe trades done on the organisation.

    Thesettlement risk function is a second line risk function whichfacilitates setting risk boundaries and provides independent riskoversight to the business.

    It is proactive in identifying,assessing and independently escalating risks whennecessary.

  • Responsible for the dailymonitoring and analysis of counter-parties, managing and developinga key internal credit modelling application and developingsovereign risk monitoring capabilities to compliment counter partyrisk monitoring.
  • Appointee will also have theopportunity to help enhance the development an internal creditmodelling application
  • The successful candidatewill be a proven Risk Management professional with a demonstrablebackground in a CCP / Clearing environment and anecdotal successdeveloping credit risk monitoring tools.
  • You will be comfortableanalysing Bloomberg market data and using portfolio managementtools

  • Overseeing the risk management practicesof first line departments
  • Reviewing,peer-reviewing, validating and assessing models, includingdocumentation, model usage, data integrity, regulatory compliance,performance, reporting and governance
  • Providequality assurance of model validations and risk models
  • Soliciting, collating and reviewing feedback from otherdepartments and committees as part of the validationprocess
  • Ensuring a sound model governanceframework is in place
  • Research and guidance onindustry best practice risk governance and models
  • Presenting findings to Senior Management
  • Acting as an expert sounding board on risk matters,providing support to other team members
  • Developing and monitoring transaction life cycle forreceipt, storage and transfer of fiat and digitalcurrencies
  • As required, undertake ad hocprojects which may extend beyond a strict validationcategorization.
  • Provide strategic directionfor new business implementation plans, client projects and systemutilisation. Effectively communicate vision, provide appropriateoversight to ensure deliverables are met and issues areappropriately escalated and resolved.
  • Participate in documentation of business requirements andtesting of new processes, systems roll outs and UAT for strategicprojects
  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory,Exchange and CCP mandates impacting operations
  • Oversight of and specialist knowledge in intraday tradematching and exception management versus the exchange and itsmembers, allocation process and trade booking.
  • Able to act as the point of escalation to resolve anytrade breaks or exceptions.
  • Continually engagewith clearing members and operating partners to enhance and buildupon the operating and risk management model
  • Ability to write and define risk management / operationalprocedures and articulate them
  • Participate indocumentation of business requirements and testing of newprocesses, systems roll outs and UAT for strategicprojects
  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory,Exchange and CCP mandates impacting operations
  • Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years’experience in a similar role

  • Experience of having worked in a Spot and FuturesClearing environment at an investment bank, broker, exchange orclearing house
  • Digital assets, Commodities,Futures and Options product experience
  • Knowledge of managing wallets and transactionsmonitoring
  • Displays a well-developed abilityto schedule work and understand relative priorities
  • Building positive working relationships and working withteam members to understand the root cause of an issue in a timelyand effective manner.
  • Exemplary presentation,training and communication skills in English
  • Degree preferred
  • Experience ofelectronic trading, exchanges and clearing houses
  • A keen demonstrable interest in financialmarkets
  • Experience of compiling data andanalysing results
  • Experience of formal vendormanagement is beneficial
  • Very strong withMicrosoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Visio, MSAccess
  • Knowledge of GMI, CCP interfaces andExecution platforms
  • Knowledge ofreconciliations and clearing

  • Wellorganised with the ability to multi task
  • Beable to demonstrate a structured process for complexoperations
  • Good attention to detail andaccuracy
  • Ability to work as a self starterproactively and learn quickly
