Job Purpose The Head of Sales & Marketing is responsible for setting and implementing a global growth strategy that enables Alef Education to drive long term adoption of its services and products across the world.
The role will be responsible to build strategic relationships that grow market share and penetrate into new targeted markets, maintaining a consistent trajectory of growth.
The role must continuously collaborate and align with key stakeholders to ensure support for growth opportunities, expansion into new strategic markets and to mitigate risk and obstacles as the market and industry continues to shift and evolve.
Key Responsibilities Job Specific Responsibilities Commercial Strategy
Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives, maintaining a constant trajectory of growth
Develop and communicate detailed commercial strategies that effectively articulate development of leads and operating plans, annual budgets and cash flow to maximize revenues, control expenses and ensure effective execution
Drive demand for Alef Education positioning the organization as a key strategic partner to meet client education objectives in a manner that positively shapes the overall reputation of the company
Evaluates market conditions, leading market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercially viable opportunities for expansion and growth across markets
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective customers, regularly communicating to understand their needs and problems
Manage client relationships in partnership with Director of Service Delivery, maintaining Alef Educations positioning as a key strategic partner to achieve education objectives
Collaborate with and coordinate information flows, ensuring key stakeholders are well informed within Product, Service Delivery, Education, Operations, and Board
Monitor performance of commercial activities, adjusting and streamlining lead generation processes, enabling sales to effectively capitalize on opportunities
Pricing, Promotion, and Lead Management
Responsible for lead management, proactively responding to inquiries, carrying out risk assessment and ensuring prospective clients are viable for long term engagement and adoption of Alef products and services
Streamlines lead generation processes, enabling Commercial teams to quickly and proactively build and capitalize on relationships
In collaboration with Marketing, implements new sales strategies and keeps key stakeholders throughout the organization informed
Negotiate and review contracts with suppliers, customers, and strategic sales partners to ensure financial viability, risk mitigation and clear scope
Collaborate on effective pricing strategies, ensuring timely accounting practices and communication that enable timely collection
Support claims preparation and final account negotiation and settlement as appropriate
Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators and Dashboards that enable effective analysis, reporting and decision making with a notable ability to quickly identify and respond to patterns of success or failure
Customer Relationships
Drive continuous improvement to each part of the customer experience including on-boarding, implementation, renewal, and continuous service enhancements
Support renewal and negotiation of client contracts with a mind for long term client retention and rapid organizational growth
Develop relationships outside of the organization to promote the company, its services and products and create new opportunities for sales and market share
Work closely with Director of Service Delivery and associated teams to manage key customers (existing and new) to drive retention, engagement and profitability
Team Leadership
Assign responsibilities and individual tasks to team members in a manner that enables the team to complete all tasks on time in a productive manner.
Enhance team capabilities by providing training to support the development of needed and emerging skills
Facilitates ongoing team communication within the team and with other supporting teams to ensure all key stakeholders are well informed
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members, encouraging open communication and building effective relationships to enable clear understanding about progress and barriers to individual achievements.

Education, Experience and Required Skills Educational Qualification
BSc / BA in business administration, finance or relevant field; MSc / MA is a plus
Processes & Practice
Minimum 10 years experience leading Commercial Teams
Relevant industry experience in areas of education and / or technology
Proven track record of profitable business growth and lead conversion
Excellent reputation managing customer relationships
Strong external network to enable rapid market penetration and lead generation
In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
Strong reporting and financial / budgeting skills
