Responsible for overall control and management of the WM Planning organization, including scope, timelines, schedule, work management programs and workflow, as well as staff management including matching maintenance staff qualifications, skills, training and availability to Planning tasks.
Should understand managing work planning, preventive maintenance and other related programs, as well as impact of technical specifications and regulatory requirements on planning.
Work Planning Management
Supervise and manage of work planning to effectively control the planning organization.
Oversee the BNPP equipment, data and determinants.
Understand plant Master Equipment and configuration to be able to plan work around plant operations activities, or optimize outage work.
Supervise, manage and support the planning functions for vendors or contractors assigned to perform work in the plant.
Coordinate with Plant Work Management Online / Work Control and Outage Managers for work planning.
Coordinate with schedulers, designate at least 2 schedule reviewers in the Work Planning organization, and train them in Primavera (P6) use.
Understand Work Order Closure and develop the Root Cause / Common Cause and Failure Mode analyses to support plant safety, performance and asset reviews.
Work Order Development and Packaging
Supervise the development, assembly and review of all the work orders to be scheduled for plant work in the WM Function.
Oversee the inclusion of work order requirements into daily work planning.
Review and verify contents of work package templates, including permits, training and qualification for a specific work requirements, discipline requirements, Parts and Bills of Material (BOM), Safety-
Related components, quality levels, component relationships and integration with other related work orders.
Review, verify and escalate, as needed, Configuration Management, Document and Engineering errors identified during work planning.
Oversee the development of parts lists and Bills of Material (BoM) to create Material Requests, and understand the requisition process, time constraints and supply chain requirements for non-stock parts.
Review related pre-planned / Preventive Maintenance (PM) planning, in coordination with Operations Work Control (including warranty, surveillance, rework, etc.
for plant mode, LCO’s and technical specification(s) currently in force.
Staffing and Qualification Management
Understand training and qualification credential requirements for maintenance staff.
Match maintenance staff qualifications, skills, training and availability to create work orders with the proper staffing.
Work Planning Interface
Review clearance and tagging, and permit requirements for work orders.
Review and modify as needed for PM’s and other recurring work orders and surveillances to ensure configuration status control.
Support coordination with Operations work control organization to include required elements of work events currently underway in the plant.
Minimize backlog and develop plans to maintain reliability.
Vendor and Outsourced Work
Management of vendor and (Long Term Maintenance Agreement) LTMA based work plans and requirements to ensure process and procedural compliance and alignment with BNPP requirements.
Understand and deploy vendor manuals (VM’s), warranty documents and other external documents and data in the development of work plans and work order media.
Assist in managing site access requirements for specialized vendor computers and Measuring and Test Equipment (M&TE) devices when required.
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
Assist in the development of, and monitor the execution of PM Requirements.
Coordinate with Design Engineering Maintenance and vendors, as needed, to understand PM creation or changes.
Understand and develop pre-planned maintenance requirements, in coordination with Operations Work Control (including warranty, surveillance, rework, etc.
for plant mode, LCO’s and technical specification(s) in force
Coordinate with Outage Management to prepare contingency work plans for reduced power, mode changes or forced outages.
Ensure compliance with Tech Spec intervals and work frequencies, report and resolve documentation errors.
Maintain high self-identification ratios.
Management and Supervision
Observe and track staff accountabilities, including work progress, attendance, training, etc.
Advise on, and track Corrective Actions assigned to Planning staff members
Gain familiarity with BNPP software, application and Training (such as OMS, eSOMS, P6, RIMS / Phoenix, eWP, etc.)
Remain updated with Industry and NGO-based resources for work management and the nuclear arts, including INPO, EPRI, WANO, IAEA, etc.

Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the Division / Department / Section by delivery of the Health and Safety Management Program to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality service and a responsible environmental attitude.
Follow all relevant Security policies, processes, procedures and instructions to ensure security compliance in all aspects of work, by applying them on self, others and Corporate assets.
Ensure compliance with corporate requirements for adherence to policies, procedures and instructions related to Crisis Management and Business Continuity in order to continue mission-critical activities.
Manage the effective achievement of the Organization’s objectives by setting individual targets, developing and motivating staff, and providing formal and informal constructive feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and department performance.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Science with 10 years of experience out of which 2 years in a Managerial role OR equivalent

Understands nuclear plant WM, design, modification and supporting processes.
Understands license-basis, regulatory requirements and plant operating requirements, as well as typical WM programs and methods for assuring safety and quality as they impact Nuclear Power Plant operation.
Identify WM stakeholders and establish relationships with peers within the site and across the nuclear industry that permit assumption of a leadership role in the organization.
Familiar with the nuclear industry in general, and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) such as Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO), World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO), and Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), as well as major Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC’s) and vendors.
Understands risk management and work coordination with work control in the nuclear power plant.
Understands the fundamentals of EQ, Appendix R , Combustible Load and other related programs.
