Job Description

This post reports to Director Quality & Safety Assurance

Job Purpose

To enforce compliance with GCAA Regulations, ensure the airworthiness of our aircraft and monitor the standards of all Maintenance & Engineering personnel.

Promote continuous improvement initiatives within Maintenance & Engineering through relevant training programs and the development of a robust Quality Management System.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits and surveys as per the audit plan or as directed by the Quality Post Holder to ensure audited internal areas, vendors, suppliers and contracted maintenance organisations are of the level of compliance required by the GCAA and Royal Jet.
  • Respond in a timely fashion to audit findings from the GCAA or other external agencies.

  • Advise the Maintenance & Engineering division on technical and regulatory issues by providing a professional quality service.
  • Following up all audits and, based on findings, make recommendation for corrective / preventative actions and / or procedural changes

  • Investigate and report on all incidents, create awareness through Quality Directives / Training Programs etc to minimize recurrence.
  • Monitor the performance of all Maintenance & Engineering and contracted maintenance personnel ensuring compliance to Royal Jet standards and procedures.
  • Approval of currently used and new products / materials and the monitoring of the Supplier Approval list held by Royal Jet Logistics
  • Overview of the Certificate of Maintenance Reviews process (CMR) and the preparation and review of the renewal application for the Certificate of Airworthiness and Aircraft Radio Licenses.
  • Ensure all maintenance is carried out in a timely manner ensuring all discrepancies are rectified and records maintained i.

  • Compile and conduct Quality & Human Factor training to all Maintenance & Engineering personnel to meet current GCAA regulations with regard to Continuation Training.
  • Review Maintenance & Engineering Authorization requests and when necessary issue authorizations on behalf of Quality Post Holder.
  • Control of Authorization Stamps and the maintenance and update of M & E personnel training files.

  • Co-ordinate with various departments of the GCAA with regard to Engineer Licenses and Aircraft Airworthiness issues.
  • Liaison with external customers / clients and foreign airworthiness authorities with regard to the receipt or sale of an aircraft.

  • Skills

    Formal Education Required

    An appropriate Engineering degree or recognized aerospace qualifications together with a minimum of 10 years in the industry

    Mandatory

    Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (ICAO),

    Formal training in quality assurance auditing, preferably to Lead Auditor standard

    Trained on All Jet aircraft Operated by Royal Jet

    Preferred

    Excellent knowledge of GCAA, EASA, FAA general rules and regulations.

    Experience within a functional maintenance organization

    High standard of English language

    Excellent ability to prioritize quality & safety cases

    Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills

    Computer literate in MS office application

    Years & Field of Experience required :

    5 years’ experience as approved Lead Aircraft Engineer or 5 years’ experience as Quality Assurance Manager / Engineer
