Issues tools to or receives from workshop users, as well as other maintenance personnel and stores them in good condition in the tool room.
Ensures the return of all tools, and requisitions replacement tools as necessary from main stores or through petty cash.
Reports defective tools and apparatus to Supervisor for repair by workshop personnel. Maintains records of all tools and equipment kept under custody in the Tool Store.
1.Issues tools to authorized users within the Maintenance Department and other personnel as directed, and receives these back after use.
Maintains tool issue cards for individual employees, recording item, date and time issued, to check proper return.
2.Receives tools from main storehouse for replenishment of tool room stocks according to stock set-ups established in the special tool room vocabulary.
Initiates requisitions to obtain stock replenishment from stores and submits to Supervisor for authorization.
3.Arranges tool storage in an orderly manner in the tool room and ensures proper tagging of each item with relevant and up-to-date information.
4.Follows up to ensure the proper use of tools by work overs, prompt return of tools after use and to verify that no tools are outstanding with employees at the time of their separation from the Company, or transfer to another area.
5.Maintains a record of all tools in the Tool Store according to bin locations and workshop. Determines those which are defective and provides information to Supervisor for disposal and the raising of replacement requisitions.
Adds all tools list as per procedures.
