In anticipation of contract award, Vertex is seeking experienced professionals to support Aviation Services at our United Arab Emirates Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Contingent positions are available immediately in the following specialty.
Will be responsible for assisting EHS management in assuring company compliance with applicable federal, state and local EHS regulations, standards and customer expectations.
Work with the EHS management to assess and make improvement recommendations, and ensure compliance with all required EHS standards, regulations and customer requirements.
Work closely with and under the direction of Sr. Manager EHS. Ensures adherence to and compliance with established company Environmental Health and Safety policies, practices, standard operating procedures (SOP) and government regulations.
Interprets technical direction from aviation maintenance manuals, Industrial Hygiene reports, applicable Federal, State and local regulations administering policies, processes, and procedures that affect Company Functional Departments and Programs.
Advises operating units on EHS standards, and opportunities for improvement dealing with applicable regulations, chemicals, packaging, shipping, materials handling, procedures, processes, and finished products.
Capable of conducting Environmental Health and Safety Audits, writing detailed reports relating to regulatory compliance, findings, and observations.
Must be able to enter data tracking information into excel spreadsheets, interpret collected data, implement and monitor data tracking and trending, and have an understanding of information provided through analysis of trended data.
Ensure prompt initiation and oversight of any suspected negative trends and conduct investigations and collect / trend associated systemic data.
Must poses good guidance and collaboration skills, combined with ability to positively influence internal and external teams to ensure EHS standards are in place and complied with.
Can be expected to implement methods and procedures for inspecting, and evaluating products, documentation, certifications, material, and equipment.
Analyzes inspection processes, mechanisms and conducts EHS reviews from statistical analysis to assess areas that do not meet required standards.
Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable regulatory standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
Provides input for the development and maintenance of EHS programs, processes and procedures that ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Provides guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and / or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance.
Conducts audits and inspection preparation, resolution of audit and inspection findings and liaises with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits.
Provides assistance as required to ensure the Environmental Health and Safety, programs, policies, and procedures are maintained and reviewed and up-dated as required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety with 2 years’ experience in aviation environment OR Education / Experience Equivalent
