ENERCON is hiring for an overseas Senior Contract Management Specialist . The contract will last 12+ months and is located in Abu Dhabi (UAE) .

The position includes daily (7 days a week) per diem, paid-for trips home to visit (every 3 months) and free medical coverage for the duration of the contract.

Senior Contract Management Specialist

Effectively and efficiently manage the commercial activities of the Prime Contract to ensure client’s (located within the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE) commercial risk exposure to conflict, claims and dispute is minimized and controlled.

Prime Contract (PC) Analysis of Contractual Obligations and Entitlement.

Duties :

  • Effectively and efficiently manage the commercial activities of the Prime Contract to ensure client’s (located within the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in the UAE) commercial risk exposure to conflict, claims and dispute is minimized and controlled.
  • Support and work collaboratively with Commercial team to integrate and streamline Claims management with Change Management.
  • Provide Contractual and commercial advice to Commercial team for Change and Claims related issues on a regular basis.
  • Conduct extensive, detailed contractual and commercial analysis of issues and determine culpability of each Party to the PC and advise on contract / commercial risk to technical staff.
  • Negotiate claims with Prime Contractor.
  • Ensure client commercial interests are protected by minimizing potential for conflict.
  • Provide regular internal reporting of Claims and Dispute Resolution issues to PC.
  • Liaise with external consultants to ensure timely deliverables are achieved.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on forensic schedule analysis.
  • Ability to independently analyze and negotiate Changes with the Contractor and internal subject matter experts.
  • Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained to satisfy ENEC Delegation of Authority levels.
  • Ensure cost, time and risk issues are being commercially controlled.
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
  • Chartered member of a recognized professional institution such as RICS, CIOB or ICE.
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in the nuclear power or international power industry.
  • Experience in Claims and Dispute Resolution
  • Experience with arbitration or other alternative dispute resolution processes.
  • Experience with project management, work program scheduling, project controls / cost controls, management of control.
  • Ability to independently analyze and negotiate Changes with the Contractor and internal subject matter experts.
