The Role L3 Wescam’s primary operations are focused on intelligence / surveillance / reconnaissance hardware and systems for the airborne, marine, and ground markets.

This role focuses on the systems integration elements of our products, including interim In-Service Support elements. We are seeking a Program Specialist to assist in managing our growing business in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

This role is in response to L3’s expanding market share and global dominance of the ISR market. With up to 50-75% travel (initially) to customer locations throughout MENA but mainly focused in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the Program Specialist shall support the Wescam Program Manager for delivery and quality, schedule attainment to program specifications and ultimately customer acceptance.

Tasks To Be Accomplished Program Management

  • Act as the in-country lead for specific program activities involving ship yard access for all program team members (including suppliers), customer import support and tracking, customer approvals, and status reporting
  • Work with L-3 KSA for invitation letters for Sales and Program efforts within KSA
  • Ensure technical understanding of customer in terms of program deliveries, and general familiarization of product
  • Provide limited technical services in terms of In-Service Support activities
  • Technical Management

  • Support the Wescam technical lead for arising ship variation(s), in-country supplier design and build efforts, or required product analyses through the use of script files or capturing data log(s).
  • Configuration Data Control

  • Ensure Wescam supplier data is captured and reported for As Built (Installed). This forms the basis of the Interim In-Service Support data
  • Ensure customer installation Certificate of Service Completion approval and delivery to Wescam
  • Close out programs :
  • Support the closure of all program actions with customer(s)
  • Track execution, analyze effectiveness and post mortem issues to develop future areas of Wescam improvement
  • Transition program into the Customer Service Group lifecycle management plan (Service Plan)
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications Skills & Experience

  • Background in Defense / Aerospace market verticals is highly preferred, or Industrial Engineering and / or Electrical Manufacturing experience
  • Program Management and Project Management skills PMP designation is preferred
  • Ability to travel extensively to global locations
  • Multi-lingual capabilities are highly preferred
  • Ability to obtain and maintain NATO and Controlled Good Program clearances
  • Clear and concise understanding of NPI
  • An understanding of Canadian quality standards is required, knowledge of global quality standards is considered highly preferential
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Operation Management and Business practices
  • Knowledge of Program Management Principles
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • Education Requirements

  • Undergraduate Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in an Engineering-To-Order environment
  • PMI accreditation or working towards accreditation
