Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
We would be looking to hire a number of Engineering professionals upon contract award. We will contact you if your CV was found suitable to discuss a project and position details.
We are currently sourcing a Lead Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;
As a Lead / Senior Instrument Engineer you will be responsible for sections of the work-scope, leading instrumentation teams and deputising for the Lead Instrument Engineer all whilst interfacing with both client and company management.
Conceptual & FEED Phases
Inter-action with client, company management and other disciplines to develop the control, safety and monitoring systems and instrumentation philosophies per the above criteria
Develop FEED packages suitable for client review, Contractor bidding and selection
Review all relevant other discipline documentation and participate in the development of the P&IDs
Produce designs for Instrument systems and equipment. Prepare adequate drawings, specifications, data sheets, calculations and other pertinent engineering and design documentation to enable the procurement of Instrument equipment packages and their subsequent installation, commissioning and safe operation.
Issue material requisitions to the Procurement Department for enquiry, order placement and for any subsequent revisions
Prepare the Master Requisition Index and update and issue it on a regular basis
Review Vendors' quotations, prepare technical quotation evaluation and recommend the final technically acceptable Vendor, in conjunction with Materials Management Department commercial quotation evaluation
Technically approve Order Variation Summaries
Hold co-ordination meetings and engineering review meetings with Vendors of major equipment as required carry out technical investigations, produce technical reports, engineering standards and procedures
Assist in the development and training of Client's personnel when requested
Review the project execution developed by the Cost and Planning Department
Liaise with other Groups and Client as necessary but in particular :
Process Engineering Department at the initial design investigation stages
Project Co-ordinating Engineer regarding the interpretation of Client's Specifications and Standards
With Mechanical Equipment, Utilities and Project Groups in relation to instruments and controls associated with packages, to ensure compliance with Project Standards and requirements
With Design Section in relation to instrument matters and review of critical drawings
With the Project Co-ordinating Engineer on matters of project co-ordination and programme, plant safety, and work scope that could constitute a contract change
With the Client's Instrument Engineer on technical matters concerning Instrumentation
With Procurement Department to obtain all necessary Vendor information, in particular review with the Materials Management Department late Vendor documentation for expediting
With the Project Engineer regarding information required by the Design Engineers
Skills / Qualifications
A Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline
A minimum of 15 years instrumentation experience, 5 years at a senior level at least
Smart Plant Instrumentation and or MS Access
Prior experience in developing FEED’s and Engineering Flow Diagrams (P&IDs)
