Summary of Responsibilities :
Reporting to the General Counsel MiddleEast & Africa, responsibilities and essential job functions include but arenot limited to the following :
Working with Development team on the completion of letters of intent, hotel management agreements, license and franchise agreements, technical services agreements, subordination and non-
disturbance agreements and residential brand licensing and management agreements for Accor-branded hotels and residential projects.
Executing know your counterparty (KYC) process on new development projects and assist with managing the operator’s consent to the sale of existing hotels to new owners.
Assist with managing a data base of current agreements and precedents.
Assist with M&A projects and transactions that include joint ventures on hotel projects and other investments in hotel properties or loans or key money advanced to owners
Assist with interpretation of existing agreements and issues as needed, concerning operations (including pre-opening), accounting, employment and labour, guest complaints, security, data privacy, insurance, sales and marketing.
Maintaining and revising template agreements.
Reviewing significant property level hotel operating and service contracts from a commercial and legal perspective.
Assisting in managing legal risk and advising corporate and hotels on legal compliance
Assist in responding to issues raised by hotel owners in operations or management, and managing disputes up to and including litigation.
At least 8 years of experience in similar role, experience in Law firms is an advantage
Knowledge of the hospitality industry
Knowledge of French Civil Law or UK Common Law is a requirement
Strong understanding of Hotel Management Agreements, residential brand licensing and management agreement
Fluent in English; French is an advantage
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
Ability to manage his / her time effectively and be able to efficiently operate under pressure and meet deadlines
