At the moment we'relooking for a Director of Sales to join our team at InterContinental Hotels Group®,Dubai Festival City .
This vital role will beresponsible to lead and manage the sales force of InterContinental Hotels Group® Dubai FestivalCity.
The role’s primary responsibility is to develop marketing strategies incollaboration with the Area Director of Sales and Marketing, RevenueDepartment and Regional General Manager in order to achieve InterContinental DFC’s budgetedrevenue targets and marketing objectives.
Additional keyresponsibilities are :
Actively solicit and book businessfollowing hotel standards.
Attend Industry Exhibitions to representthe hotels in front of prospect clients.
Grows existing business and establishesand pursues leads which will develop business
Initiates and prepares tenders forbusiness
Manage corporate head office and globalsales leads
Monitors existing business and inputs intosales strategy meetings to maximize business.
Services existing business throughmanagement of account bases
Establish hotel’s short, mid and long termstrategy in conjunction with DOS, Revenue team, Regional General Managers and otherstakeholders involved based on the market intelligence gained through the salesteam and IHG tools and external intelligence reports (STR, Hotelligence, etc.)
Provide input, advice and contributetowards the annual budgeting process and the setup of IHG® DFC’s ratestructure across all market segments.
Develop solid understanding of numbers toevaluate revenue performance, understand profit contribution to GOP and monitorsales department’s impact on hotel profitability
Suggest and launch tactical promotions ifrequired due to market situation.
Establish solid understanding of numbersto evaluate revenue performance, understand profit contribution to GOP andmonitor sales department’s impact on hotel profitability
Manage and / or Supervise the SalesManagement of Key Accounts and ensure the constant generation of new prospectsfor direct reports.
Develop new methods and ideas of revenue generationand consider innovative opportunities of product distribution through : onlinesystems, websites, networks, partnerships and co-operations etc.
Constantly evaluate business potential andopportunities in new geographical markets and across new market segments
Travelwhen required to promote the hotel and develop potential business in othermarkets.
Monitorscompetitors activities and assists in marketing intelligence
Ensureup to date knowledge of market dynamics locally in Dubai and UAE, regionallyand internationally to provide valuable input towards hotel’s strategydevelopment plan.
Buildup market and product knowledge about 5* Corporate, MICE and Leisure businessin Dubai.
Providesdirection on, and conducts market research and analysis
Buildsprofile within local market place through attendance at various events andlocal market place
Planand conduct familiarization tours and site inspections.
Engagewith guests and customers within the hotel, at client events, industrygatherings and other social functions
Ideally, you'll have some or all of thefollowing qualifications and experience we're looking for :
Required Skills and Experiences :
Highlevel of passion, enthusiasm and drive for results
Charismaticleader who can inspire, motivate and discipline a sales team
Excellentcommunication skills across all mediums presentation, telephone,correspondence, face to face etc. in English and preferably a 2ndlanguage
Stronginterpersonal skills to develop and foster beneficial relationships
Ambitiousand eager to learn, grow and further develop own career
Highlevel of common sense and high skill of problem solving and decision making
Ableto travel on frequent basis and culturally adaptable
Pro-activeapproach, and the ability to meet deadlines
Degreefrom a university or hotel school preferably in business administration ortourism / hospitality management
Minimumof 5 years working experience in the international 5* luxury hotel orhospitality sales & marketing environment
