The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible to direct or coordinate purchasing warehousing distribution and supplies financial forecasting services or activities to limit costs and improve accuracy customer service or safety He is also responsible to examine existing procedures or opportunities for streamlining activities to meet product distribution needs direct the movement storage or processing of inventory Key Responsibilities Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies standards regulations or laws Diagram supply chain models to help facilitate discussions with customers Develop material planning system material costs forecasts or standard cost lists Assess appropriate material handling equipment needs and staffing levels to load unload move or store materials Proactively be involved with continuous inventory management Appraise suppliers performance and ability through onsite visits and measurements Negotiate contracts bids prices and terms with suppliers vendors or freight forwarders Monitor supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities Meet with suppliers to discuss performance metrics to provide performance feedback or to discuss production forecasts or changes Implement new or improved supply chain processes Collaborate with other departments such as production maintenance and quality assurance to identify or qualify new suppliers Develop or implement procedures or systems to evaluate or select suppliers Analyze information about supplier performance or procurement program success Design or implement supply chains that support environmental policies and best waste management practices Document physical supply chain processes such as workflows cycle times position responsibilities or system flows Design or implement plant warehousing strategies for production materials or finished products Confer with planning officer to forecast demand or create supply plans that ensure availability of materials or products Define performance metrics for measurement comparison or evaluation of supply chain factors such as product cost or quality Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns reduce waste or optimize production process Participate in the coordination of changes product line extensions or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow Manage activities related to strategic or tactical purchasing material requirements planning inventory control warehousing or receiving Develop procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas such as sales marketing finance production or quality assurance Design or implement supply chains that support business strategies adapted to changing market conditions new business opportunities or cost reduction strategies Design implement or oversee product returns to ensure products are responsibly disposed returned Evaluate and select information or other technology solutions to improve tracking and reporting of materials or products distribution storage or inventory Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials minimize waste or to convert wastes to byproducts Locate or select biodegradable nontoxic or other environmentally friendly raw materials for manufacturing processes Practice QHSE and BRC procedures and recommend improvements to standard procedures as required HSE Ensure work in safe and effective manner during all operations Ensure tools and equipment s are handled safe Ensure quality operations at workshop and site Report any near misses at work location to the QHSE Manager or QHSE Engineer Dispose the wastage in the allocated bins Maintain quality service by following organization standards and procedures Communicate QHSE and BRC Requirements to the external parties as applicable Working knowledge of BRC standard Policies Codes of Practice for some of the major UAE retailers Food Packaging Legislation and Good Manufacturing Practices Implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of a BRC based quality system such that as a minimum required approvals typically BRC and customer standards are achieved and hygienic quality safety legality standards are consistently met QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must have a Bachelor s degree in procurement finance accounting or any other related field 10 years experience in holding a similar position preferably in food packaging industry Five years experience in aseptic packaging is an advantage Tetra Pack Previous experience in handling shipments within the GCC and UAE is a must UAE experience and familiarity with suppliers within the region namely suppliers of paperboard films and printing materials Experience in a converting plant paper printing and plastic Experience with ink disposal and recycling Knowledge in contracts dispute resolutions REQUIRED SKILLS Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Ability to work under pressure carrying out several tasks simultaneously to completion Management ability to lead develop and motivate staff Committed team player Significant experience in fleet management and knowledge of vehicle maintenance Experience clearing containers with customs offices and port authorities Advanced skills in using Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook
