Key Job Responsibilities
The Bell person is mainly responsible ingreeting and weing the entire guest to the hotel and assisting with thecheck-in / check-
out processes, their luggage, transportation miscellaneous needsand amodating guests during their stay in an attentive, courteous andefficient manner.
Often the first and last person a guest sees while staying atthe hotel is the Bellman. The care and attention that goes with this positionis crucial to the success of a hotel as they convey a critical message to theguests about the property’smitment to service.
Checking the daily movement sheet, arrival and departure list
To be at the Concierge desk or in the lobby to be ready to assist guests and visitors when requested
Ensure loading and unloading luggage of the guests in an efficient manner.
Escort guests to rooms offering luggage assistance and familiarize them with hotel services and amenities (hours of outlets, pool, and exercise room, etc.).
Inspect guest room for order and adequate supplies and inform guests of room amenities.
Check / store luggage for arrivals and departures with luggage tags.
Operate the courtesy shuttle.
Baggage handling for tours.
Be aware of local attractions and restaurants and make rmendations to guests
Accuratelymunicate with other shifts regarding issues arising from day to day operations.
Deliver messages to meeting rooms.
Deliver flowers, laundry and packages to guestrooms.
Assist with room changes.
Maintain current listing of local and area attractions, special events and activities.
Be aware of daily hotel activities, VIP arrivals.
Keep an accurate record of all bellmen forms.
Maintain list of local transportation.
Assist Housekeeping with guest requests.
Ensure lobby reader board is correct.
Provide information, maps and directions as required in a courteous manner.
Answer console to assist guest service agents.
Show guestrooms and suites as needed and emphasize the hotel’s amenities.
Respond to guest requests and queries providing a knowledgeable, efficient and helpful information service.
Assist with answering the telephone and taking messages, transferring calls or dealing with enquiries.
Assist the Valet and park / obtain vehicles whenever required and keep vehicles and keys safe
Ensure luggage room, vehicles and lobby are kept clean and neat
Perform any other works as and when assigned by the management.
EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATION
A minimum of one (1) year experience in asimilar capacity at any 4 or 5-star international hotels.
valid driver’s license is an advantage.
Security related trainings (fire-fightingteam etc.) highly preferred
High school diploma or higher
First aid certificate or other emergency relatedtraining certificates an asset.
