Vertex Aerospace has been providing International Aircraft Maintenance and Logistics Solutions since moving its headquarters to Madison, MS in 1989.

In anticipation of contract award, Vertex is seeking experienced professionals to support Aviation Services at our United Arab Emirates Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Contingent positions are available immediately in the following specialty

  • Prepares monthly journal entries.
  • Maintains the controls and balances of various work orders
  • Participates in the preparation of budgets, payrolls, and pre-auditing functions as necessary.
  • Reviews accounts for coding errors and reasonableness
  • Prepares and reviews supplemental financial reports on a monthly basis
  • Prepares financial analyses of operations for guidance of management
  • Prepares reports which outline the Programs’ financial position in the areas of income, expenses and earnings based on past, present and future operations
  • Coordinates preparation of all financial reporting information needed for Program Management.
  • Ensures accuracy of all financial reports distributed to management and outside parties
  • Prepares quarterly Program Management reports for management
  • Participates in the preparation of financial forecasts.
  • Cooperates on audits of the Program’s accounts
  • Queries revenue statistics from the computerized systems
  • Directs preparation of annual budgeting process, including monthly expense and capital budgets by Program.
  • Ensures that monthly budget to actual reports for expense and capital transactions are provided to each budget location manager.
  • Coordinates the examination and explanation of all budget variances
  • Coordinates the preparation of financial forecasts of business operations, financial position and the customer.
  • Develops key business matrix and indicators to manage the Program’s financial and operational performance, including forecasting such indicators and measuring actual performance.
  • Analyzes the requirements for the report, completes the reports, and files them timely.
  • Accumulates accurate information from past periods for presentation of or for completion of the report.
  • Reviews and approves all assignment records, changes of status for employees.
  • Coordinates with all sites regarding benefits
  • Audits field personnel’s expense reports and approves payment of such reports.
  • Monitors and controls the employment levels for the program
  • Makes recommendations for hiring / firing supervisors and staff
  • Determines department goals and objectives with the supervisor’s input
  • Conducts regular meetings with the supervisors to facilitate communication of issues.
  • Ensures managers are having their staff adhere to company policies and procedures and that those policies are kept up-to-date.
  • Obtains periodic updates and determines needs for supervisors in order to meet project deadlines.
  • Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring new employees.
  • Disciplines and makes recommendations for terminating employees
  • Hears grievances of immediate employees
  • Provides performance goals and objectives
  • Provides daily / monthly feedback on performance achieved.
  • Provides input on annual performance review, giving direction, praise, and guidance
  • Greets visitors and clients
  • Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers, businesses, and coworkers
  • Assists coworkers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
  • Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company and regulatory bodies
  • This job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.
  • Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
  • Other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Physical Requirements : Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as : preparing and analyzing data and figures;
  • transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and / or operation of machines (including inspection);
  • using measurement devices; and / or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. At times, must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment and board / exit aircraft.

    At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.

    Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat / cold.

    Must be able to communicate effectively.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Business, Accounting or Finance, or a related field AND three (4) years of directly related work experience OR Education / Experience Equivalent, to include one (1) year in a supervisory or management capacity.

  • Understand and use the English language, either oral or written, to communicate information or ideas toanother person or persons
  • Work with mathematical concepts such as probability, and statistical inference and fundamentals of planeand solid geometry and trigonometry;
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations;
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legaldocuments
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of thebusiness community;
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups and / or board of directors;
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; in planning and organizing;
  • Indexing and organizing and alphabetizing files, material or data; in problem analysis and independent decision making;
  • Synthesize and retain information and make decisions according to standard policies and procedures; in leadership; in delegation of tasks and duties;

  • Discern priorities
  • Develop departmental budget; in intra and inter-personal relations; in handling stressful situations; to obtain a passport, visa, and / or Department of Defense security clearance, if required;

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
