Do you want to know why it is so wonderful to work for Baxter? The Job The candidate will be responsable oversee accounting, controls, audit and tax requirements for the Middle East and Africa Region The candidate will be responsible for :
Reviewing and managing vendor Payables for the region. Set up and publish payment schedules and coordinate vendor payments with the team in line with policies and approval matrixes.
Overviewing Fixed assets management for the region capitalization, monthly depreciation checks, physical verification cycles and findings, disposals and asset sales.
Ensure capitalization vs FOC accounting is managed accurately.
Reviewing month end accounting and reporting requirements and over view month end feeds from external accountants.
Supporting marketing spend activities and ensure they are in line with internal compliance policies and framework laid down by the government.
Supporting accounting guidance requirements for Joint venture business models in the region.
Managing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and updates into online systems.
Ensuring all accounting and reporting deadlines (JDE Edwards, Hyperion) are well achieved.
Reviewing P & L and balance sheets on Day 1, 2 and 3 and confirm correctness. Review P & L for variances.
Reviewing daily transaction feeds and intercompany analysis.
Ensuring cash flows and timely intercompany settlements.
Reviewing inventory validations and valuations.
Coordinating Transfer price requirements.
Managing all internal tax reporting requirements
Managing regional customer / distributor contracts and review validity
Ensuring timely accruals for all commitments booked through regional agreements.
Working closely with the regional supply chain and analysts to ensure all regional sales arrangements and reimbursements are well documented and accounted accurately and on a timely basis.
Managing yearly annual audits and tax submissions in the MEA region.
Coordinating with external accountants and ensure all VAT, employee taxes and other tax calculations are accurate and filed on a timely basis.
Helping create robust processes to ensure timelines are managed independently
Be the point of contact for all accounting guidance requirements in the region
Validating all business models in line with US GAAP requirements and work closely with regional controllers to ensure alignment with global policies and practices
Focal point to ensure all SOX requirements for MEA are regularized with robust processes and with no exceptions. Do you want to learn more about our business??
Who you are
Graduate in Finance / Commerce
Professional Accountancy degree Chartered / Public Accountant
Sound systems knowledge and familiarity with global and local accounting packages.
Experience with SOX, accounting controls and processes
Good communication and cross functional support capability
Extensive knowledge of MS excel, access, power point and good presentation skills.
Prior Accounting experience with big 4 and global / MNC will be an added advantage.
