Vertex Aerospace has been providing International Aircraft Maintenance and Logistics Solutions since moving its headquarters to Madison, MS in 1989.
In anticipation of contract award, Vertex is seeking experienced professionals to support Aviation Services at our United Arab Emirates Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
Contingent positions are available immediately in the following specialty
Sources; negotiates and purchases machinery; equipment; tools; raw material; packaging materials; parts; services; and / or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitors performance of suppliers.
Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions.
Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality;
reliability; and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals; negotiates prices; selects or recommends suppliers;
analyzes trends; follows up orders placed; verifies delivery; approves payment; and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
BS Degree, preferably in supply chain, engineering, or business
At least five years of progressive responsibilities in Purchasing required, preferably associated with DoD / Aerospace with knowledge of (FAR) Federal Acquisition Regulations and (UCC) Uniform Commercial Code requirements.
Working knowledge of electrical / electronic parts and manufacturing techniques, preferably with a technical electrical background.
Experience sourcing / purchasing technical products where :
SOW or Specification is issued
significant acceptance testing is required
complex sub-contract work is involved and managed by the supplier
extensive administration and detailed management reporting requirements are required due to the highly technical nature of the product involved
procurement value of the contract is in excess of $5M
Knowledge of supplier products, services and manufacturing capabilities, supplier billing and related Company accounting procedures, and ethical procurement practices.
Ability to coordinate the requirements of engineering and manufacturing with supplier organizations during all phases of the procurement effort;
resolve conflicts and solve problems arising among parties with procurement; communicate effectively in oral and written form;
and effective negotiate pricing agreements, purchase orders, terms and conditions.
Experience with Cost Point or other similar ERP environments preferred
Must possess strong organizational and communication skills
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time. Mostly domestic travel, but some international travel may be required.
