The Demi Chef Baker is responsible in maintaining high standards of food preparation and efficient service according to the standards set by the hotel when handling food.
The key responsibilities of the position are as follows but not limited to :
Providing the highest quality of service to our guest and maintaining a professional and friendly attitude during engagement.
Adopting a positive attitude and keep the team spirit at the highest level.
To check all set-ups in the restaurant and banquet functions and to coordinate all specific duties to employees under his supervision.
Offering assistance to fellow colleagues when required during general operations in the kitchen.
Knowledgeable of food service techniques and menu contents.
Ensures consistency and highest quality of food taste, temperature and presentation.
Maintains strict control on food portioning and wastage, ensuring gross food profitability.
Ensures that staff follows the hygiene and sanitation procedures when handling food / equipment / utensils.
Acquainted and familiar with the use of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen and observes the safety precautions when handling them.
Awareness of the hotel fire and safety and emergency procedures.
Ensures smooth and effective communication among the kitchens and with other departments.
Ensures a clean, professional appearance according to hotel grooming standards.
To liaise and work closely with the Stewarding department for pre-planning and execution of delivery and cleanliness of equipment.
1+ years experience in a similar position in a 4* or 5* hotel
Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
Apprenticeship or College Level with basic / intermediate knowledge of Food Hygiene.
Passion for delivering highest levels of guest service.
Has pleasant and cheerful presonality.
Ability to work long hours and shift.
