Scope and General Purpose of Job :
To provide a high class fitness centre offering personalised fitness programmes for all guests. To be able to advise on the best ways of using the gym machinery in order to achieve personal targets of fitness.
To oversee the safety of members and guests during fitness activities. Provide safety advice for the correct use of gym equipment, sauna and steam rooms.
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
Operates a quality professional fitness program carrying out fitness testing, evaluations, and program design and fitness instruction.
Giving advice to customers on nutrition and sports science
Organizes and supervises regular fitness related activities and events to maximize members enjoyment / use of Fitness Centre and to keep up / ahead with our competition.
Implements a variety of activities and programmes for guests to join in
Promotes good will in guests and members by acting in a professional and encouraging manner, encouraging members and guests to gain and develop skills and knowledge and techniques to fulfil their personal training needs
Ensures disclaimers are displayed in the health club and guests are made aware of it.
To develop and maintain professional safe and effective fitness procedures, programs and activities in the Fitness Centre-
ensuring correct exercise practice at all times.
Supervises clearing and maintenance of Fitness Centre ensuring clearing standards are always met and equipment is always in good working order.
To fully understand the club’s facilities, membership fees and coaching / massage / aerobic fees.
To know the rules and regulations of the Club and how to deal with guest applications on memberships and their process.
To understand the entire club policies in each designated area.
To seek in increasing revenues through the development and implementation of new ideas / area of business.
To monitor supplies and equipment needed for continued operation of the Club.
To moniter the Swimming pool and lifeguards.
To continually keep abreast of the latest development in the Health and Fitness field updating knowledge and programs as required.
Demonstrate service attributes in accordance with industry expectations and company standards to include : -
Being attentive to guests
Accurately and promptly; understanding, anticipating and fulfilling guest requests
Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience
Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations
Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints
Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers by ensuring good inter-departmental relations.
Be able to promote the hotel products and services.
Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham.
Ensure known repeat guests, and other VIP’s receive special attention
To display a pleasant manner and positive attitude at all times and to promote a good company image to guests and colleagues.
Health & Safety
Operate equipment using procedures learnt during training to company standards.
To report any equipment failures or problems to the Maintenance Department.
Demonstrate an understanding and an awareness of all policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety
To play an active part in the fire investigation and fire fighting teams
To be vigilant in the workplace and report any signs of fire related issues
Familiarise yourself with emergency and evacuation procedures.
Ensure all security incidents, accidents and near misses are always logged in a timely manner and brought to the attention of your line manager.
To attend all mandatory training sessions selected by the Hotels Training Department
