Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is expecting a contract award by August 2018 for a project based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
We would be looking to hire a number of Engineering professionals upon contract award. We will contact you if your CV was found suitable to discuss a project and position details.
We are currently sourcing a Lead Pipeline Designer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidate should be able to perform the below duties and responsibilities;
Understand the quantity of work and agreed deliverable dates provided.
Direct work flow either by delegation or completing under your own abilities.
Responsible for preparing Plot Plans, Key Plans, Alignment Sheets, Crossing Drawings, Standard and Typical construction drawings, Schematic, Piping GA’s, Isometrics, Material take off etc.
3D Models experience would be an asset.
Review of Topographical survey input required for the preparation of engineering drawings.
Prepare drawing for Stress Engineer to do stress analysis.
Perform site visits and acquire project related data.
Ensure that all Specification, Standards, Procedures and Check List have been followed.
Ensure that all vendor, instrumentation and specialty items information’s have been acquired and implemented in the drawings.
Ensure that good quality is maintained under your direction and planning.
Follow manpower project schedule which gives listing of projects and tasks, for Design and Drafting personnel keeping the designers challenged through quantity and quality of work.
Work with other disciplines to help meet schedule.
Organize and attend all model reviews (the pipeline department is responsible for other disciplines populating the model)
Attend any project meetings that have a direct bearing on your project.
Maintain the Stick Files.
If requested, Create, Review and Upkeep Processes, Policies, Procedures and
Build positive and effective working relations with staff and client.
Create and review tools and templates for the Company
Further development of Drafting / Designing knowledge and skill-sets via available courses
Assist in other aspects of growing the Company
Skills / Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical engineering (or relevant subject).
Relevant 15+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas of projects.
Experience with another international design firm required
Preferred experience in an onshore pipeline environment within the Upstream and Midstream Industry, including Middle East experience.
Ability to work on AutoCAD.
AutoPLANT / CADWorx experience is an asset.
Acad Civil / Map3D experience is an asset.
Understanding of Survey / Mapping
Understanding of Engineering and Regulatory Codes and Practices.
