Develop and implement the strategic planning and operations framework of Emirates Aviation University (EAU). Lead EAU non-

academic staff towards its strategic objectives through engagement of all constituencies in the planning process, continuous evaluation of risks, and subsequent implementation of systems for monitoring of achievements at the unit and individual staff levels.

Ensure the effective provision of the required range of student and staff services to be delivered with high quality and benchmarked against best international practices.

Review processes and performance management policies and practices to achieve continuous improvement of programs and support services.

Job Outline - Direct the development of the overall planning and operations strategy for EAU ensuring the delivery of best practice outcomes and execution of University-

wide integrated planning processes, to achieve the University’s strategic goals. - Lead and develop the recurrent strategic planning process and subsequent development of annual operational plans in all functional units across EAU.

  • Develop tools and benchmarks to regularly track progress against strategic and operational goals, and report on progress in achieving performance targets at school, professional services and organizational levels.
  • Coordinate and report on the monitoring of strategic objectives and annual targets in relation to both internal and external benchmarks.

  • Take responsibility for Risk Management procedures across EAU, including the maintenance of the Risk Register. - Oversee initiatives related to policy review and development and ensure alignment with efforts to improve performance, quality and effectiveness while ensuring compliance with National and International standards.
  • Lead the development of EAU’s student experience strategy, ensuring its implementation through close collaboration across all Schools and Support Departments, monitoring performance through student satisfaction surveys, and developing an environment and approach to continuousl process and service improvement.
  • Take a leadership role in the engagement of senior management across the University, both Schools and Service units, to align the University to the integrated strategic plan, and cooperate with other teams to ensure that services provided by the planning function are properly and efficiently serving the University.
  • Implement, support and develop strategies to enhance EAU’s strategic workforce plan. Engage with and assist managers and supervisors to link workforce needs with strategy.
  • Develop strategies and tools to overcome typical barriers to effective workforce planning. - Participate in managing the University budget and setting long-

    term financial targets in coordination with Finance and the Vice-Chancellor’s office, to ensure business growth and compliance with sound budgeting / accounting standards and practice.

  • Manage performance and set direction and priorities for the Strategic Planning & Operations team, assign clear accountabilities and performance expectations, Lead the staff appraisal process effectively.
  • Masters Degree (12+5 or equivalent) Master degree in a relevant discipline 10+ yrs Experience at a senior level in the development of academic strategies and / or strategic initiatives including developing measurable plans.

    Knowledge / skills : Extensive experience in strategic and business planning with the ability to manage large and complex projects.

    Superior analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis and insights.

    Proven ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders that are mutually beneficial and support the achievement of business and strategic goals.

  • An understanding of contemporary issues facing the higher education sector. Good interpersonal and team-building skills to relate to staff across EAU and in the partner organisations;
  • Strong project management skills to develop and follow through on projects with defined deliverables and deadlines; Good IT literacy skills and experience with the use of databases and statistical software packages.
