Job purpose

To be part ofthe Middle East Technical Management Team which controls the engineeringservices and output of the UAE Technical Offices.

To contribute to the growthand profitability of the RMDK group by fulfilling their role within thebusiness.

Responsibilities

The UAE Senior- Managerwillbe responsible to the UAE General Manager for :

Inputoverview of major construction projects

Managingthe design activities in the UAE offices.

Raisingthe technical standards andmercial awareness of the UAE Technical staff

Ensuringthat work carried out in the UAE Technical Offices is carried out to the RMDKBS / EN / ISO Procedures and RMDK Quality Assurance Procedures

Tocontribute to the Middle East and global technical policies.

Tohave an overview, of the technical input for preparation and proposals formajor contracts as required.

Identifythe training needs of the technical personnel within the UAE Technicalfunction.

Developmentof technical standards and co-ordinating the preparation of technical schemesand quotations for customers including calculations, if required.

Tohave an awareness of personal responsibility and a proactive attitude for RMDKHealth and Safety issues.

Tohave an overview of operational and management practices, maintenance ofsystems and procedures within the UAE Technical function.

Toprovide guidance in RMDK product and engineering calculations to other membersof staff when required.

Toset an example to other members of staff in the high level of professionalismand performance expected at RMDK.

Tocheck the work of other Technical Staff when required.

Toensure the prompt issue and control of internal Technical Information Sheets.

  • Be aware of and adhere to thepany’s Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Senior Engineer -Managerwillbe accountable to the Middle East Chief Engineer, within his area ofresponsibility for :

    Design of safe structureswithin the published limitations of RMDK equipment and national codes orregulations applicable in the location where they are to be used.

    Tobe able to manage, motivate and develop team members to produce the highestquality and volume of work possible, as the organisational structure requires.

    Staffrecruitment, training and career planning

    Tohave a working knowledge of appropriate national technical standards and beinvolved in the development of those standards which affect RMDK.

    Inconjunction with the Chief Engineer, auditing of the Engineering DesignPolicies and Procedures in the relevant business unit

    Relevant Industry experience

  • Regional experience
  • Knowledge of formwork and falsework systems
  • ME experience preferred
  • Qualifications :

    Bachelor of Sciencein Civil Engineering

    Person

    Havea detailed knowledge of calculating wind loadings to BS6399 : 2 and be able toapply loads to non standard situations.

    Havea detailed working knowledge of BS5975

    Beable to carry out a full beam design to BS449 including stiffeners andbinedstresses

    Beable to design and detailplex specials to BS449

    Beable to carry out frame analysis using Masterseries in 2D & 3D

    Be ableto design non standard access scaffolds including sheeted scaffolds.

    Beable to develop innovative engineering solutions

    Tocontribute to the raising of technical standards in conjunction with othersenior staff

    In additionto the above, the Senior Engineer Managermits to

    Involvingteams in agreeing KPA’s and KPI’s for optimal performance

    Ensuringthat opportunities to develop are offered fairly

    Creatinga safe environment where team members can discuss any concerns they may have

    Givingconstructive feedback that will allow team members to improve

    Providinglearning, training and development opportunities to help meet job objectivesand to make sure this is helping team members improve

    Beingthere to answer questions and deal with issues

    Conductinginductions and performance reviews in a fair, timely andpetent manner
