Department Definition

The role of the Event Operations department is to manage the seamless operations across the event delivery of Expo 2020.

Event Operations includes the following service areas : Catering, Cleaning and Waste Management, Logistics, Transport Traffic and Parking, Site Management, Accreditation, Guest Services and Venue Operations.

Opportunity Responsibilities

The Transport department at Expo 2020 is mandated to prepare, deliver and ensure that the appropriate transport solution is in place at all phases of the programme including Construction, Event Delivery and legacy through a service focused, risk-

based approach that sets out to provide best-in-class transport.

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Expo 2020 vehicle fleet is managed and maintained in the most efficient way possible.

Responsible for the development of fleet administration standards, vehicle operating policies and periodic reports on operating costs such as fuel, salik maintenance repairs

The main responsibilities of this role will include :

  • Direct responsibility for managing and executing the delivery of all Sponsorship vehicles and report any relevant issues in a timely manner, as agreed with the Senior Fleet Operations Manager;
  • Plan fleet activities and continually update the process, procedures and documentation to reflect business needs and requirements
  • Responsible for implementing and integrating the vehicle and equipment software tracking system and for monitoring vehicle performance and usage;
  • Facilitate, manage and support all internal and external reporting requirements such as log books and vehicle condition inspection sheets;
  • Responsible for optimised asset management of all sponsorship vehicles, golf buggies and bicycles, with emphasis on safety, and meeting departmental requirements;
  • Overall accountability for appropriate staffing levels and quality employees relating to all fleet operations;
  • Skills

  • 7+ years in a role specializing in Transport;
  • A Bachelors Degree;
  • Strong ICT Skills in particular in MS Office, in PowerPoint, Project Management, Illustrator and other information management software;
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in handling short notice requirements;
  • Specific experience in programme planning and management;
