The main duties and responsibilities of this role are :
Be responsible for greeting & guiding all guests visiting the restaurant in the relevant outlet
Coordinate table allocation and flow of bookings
Actively promote Food & Beverage offerings, take bookings, menu printing, buffet labels and other administrational tasks
Provide knowledgeable, friendly, professional and efficient Food & Beverage support to all colleagues ensuring maximum guest satisfaction in a manner consistent with Jumeirah standards
Maintain efficient workflow by adhering to the Sequence of Service and all timeframes and standards detailed in relevant SOP in the Food & Beverage Standard’s Manual
Represent the venue as the first and last point of guest contact entrusted with warm welcome and fond farewell
Identify customer needs and expectations correctly, including those with special needs, and provide appropriate products, services or information
Identify and take all opportunities to enhance the quality of service
Recognize customer dissatisfaction promptly and take action to resolve the situation according to individual level of responsibility and customer feedback / complaint procedures
Practice high standards of personal presentation in accordance with Jumeirah Grooming & Presentation Standards
Ensure hostess desk / door is manned at all times so that all customers receive a friendly & prompt welcome
Schedule dining reservations and arrange parties or special services for customers according to the Restaurant Reservations protocols
Have a working knowledge of the dining room layout, table numbers, stations and colleagues working during each shift
Get familiar with the menu to answer any questions the guests may have and should inform guests of any specials at time of seating
Be fully certified in the use of Epicure Restaurant Reservation system
Collect and input any relevant guest history in profile
Review the notice board and outlet briefing sheets on a daily basis to be well informed of hotel events, city information, sold-
out items, daily specials and any other information that may be relevant to the job
Perform side duties including folding napkins, rolling silverware, cleaning trays, restocking shelves, filling ice bins, cleaning and breaking down service area, using cleaning compounds, and other duties as required
About you : The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications :
Completed Secondary Education
Minimum of 1 year experience in 5 star hotel or similar environment
Previous receptionist or hostess experience in hospitality industry
High level of English (spoken and written)
Additional language will be desirable
Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Knowledge in Micros and Opera is desirable
