Vertex Aerospace has been providing International Aircraft Maintenance and Logistics Solutions since moving its headquarters to Madison, MS in 1989.

In anticipation of contract award, Vertex is seeking experienced professionals to support Aviation Services at our United Arab Emirates Headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Contingent positions are available immediately in the following specialty

The incumbent is responsible for productively directing the full range of Quality Management System (QMS) and Quality Assurance (QA) activities across the Company’s commercial and military aircraft and logistics programs.

Implements and maintains a corporate QMS that meets or exceeds the standards required by our customer and the company. Coordinates Quality Assurance functions concerning technical data, maintenance analysis, material quality and maintenance quality.

Utilizes cost-effective measures to resolve problem areas and maintains a department that sets the standards for professional excellence.

The incumbent reports directly to the Vice President, Operations.

  • Prepares budgets, develops long range plans and strategies, and oversees the distribution of resources, to include manpower, for the corporate quality department, including the QMS and QA functions.
  • Provides strategic direction and tasking to the individuals filling the positions of Manager, Quality / Process Assurance and Manager System Support / DQMR.
  • Acts as the company's Quality Management Representative (QMR) and principle advisor on ISO 9000 / AS9100. Responsible for the development, publication and maintenance of the Company Quality Manual and those company level policies, procedures and instructions associated with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Continuously reviews and evaluates the company QMS and reports on its condition to the Executive Quality Steering Committee, which includes making recommendations on any improvements needed to improve the QMS.
  • Actively supports and promotes the company’s continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in the preparation of company proposals to government and commercial solicitations, specifically in the areas of Quality, Quality Management Systems, Quality Assurance and Training.
  • Maintains liaisons with the General Managers, Program Managers, and Government team members and on site personnel to address issues relative to the Quality Management System and quality assurance program.
  • Periodically reviews program quality procedures, maintenance procedures, training and certification programs to ensure customer requirements are identified and addressed consistently.
  • Investigates customer complaints and provides information and recommendations to management.
  • Develops and provides educational meetings / presentations to instruct employees on QMS / Quality policies, procedures and requirements.
  • Assists material and procurement personnel in the monitoring of material management activities as related to QMS / Quality issues.
  • Provides input and testimony to legal department for use in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations.
  • Maintains records / documentation related to quality systems and programs.
  • Monitors such functions as wage adjustment, performance reviews and disciplinary matters for quality department personnel.
  • Actively enforces the company’s EEO / Affirmative Action Program.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited four (4) year college or university and twelve (12) years of experience in aviation maintenance, quality and supply, OR Education / Experience equivalent

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS :

    A & P Certificate, Inspection Authorization and Six Sigma Certification desirable

  • ISO9000 / AS9100 Quality requirements;
  • U.S. Government regulations for federal contractors and FAA Maintenance programs; and
  • aircraft maintenance terminology.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).
  • Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
  • The essential physical requirements of the position will be reviewed with the applicant during the interview.
