PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Based on a thorough understanding of the consumer, the brand, its market and competition, the brand manager is expected to recommend and execute a strategy and action plan to that aims to grow the category to drive business growth.
The brand manager is also expected to govern and drive the brand innovations from brief to execution.
By ensuring clear understanding of the drivers and inhibitors of the brand performance
By cooperating closely and constantly with the cross-functional teams
By driving excellent execution of the agreed support plan & recommending amendments to the plan as appropriate to drive stronger performance
By identifying new opportunities to drive the portfolio innovations through a clear understanding of the consumer, competition and trade.
BUSINESS CONTEXT & KEY CHALLENGES
Key role in building and driving category growth
Critical to support Senior Brand Manager in building and driving the innovation process for the brand in Middle East
Ability to understand key drivers of portfolio performance short & long term
Annual plan, but constantly revising to drive business performance
Need to enroll and align multiple partners to ensure ability to deliver excellent execution on time & on budget in line with Healthcare Nutrition strategy
Strategically utilize various digital platforms to target the increasingly digital native consumer
Develop & drive strategy for category growth :
Develop communication plans to most effectively reach and drive consumer behavior
Ensure agreed plan execution in most appropriate channels on time & on budget
Continually monitor performance of key communication channels. Recommend plan modifications to optimize performance against objectives.
Manage process & approvals to ensure timely & on-budget execution.
Monitor E & report portfolio performance optimize forecast on monthly basis.
Analyze effectiveness of executed plan & competitor activity, derive learning and recommend plan modifications to optimize performance against objectives.
Agency Management Build strong, productive relationship with agency partners to ensure excellent proposal and delivery against strategy and agreed activity objectives.
Drive Brand innovations :
Identify portfolio opportunities and drive innovation process through a clear understanding of the consumer, competition and trade.
Project management of innovation Openway process, and owner of the innovation on innovation portal.
Responsible for aligning of all stakeholders and driving Gate change requests
Cross-functional team management working closely with supply chain, regulatory, finance and medical teams
Competitor analysis - tight track on what the competitors are doing nationally when it comes to the innovation streams (Pricing, Positioning, Promotions, Distribution, Messaging, etc) and to understand their ranges.
Analysis of their levels of activity by city and where their focus is.
Support in Tracking of the A&P budget - consumer, medical and trade
ROI analysis on any A&P spends
Consumer / HCP intelligence and insight
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Achievement of share, volume and brand health targets vs. the objectives and project timely delivery
Smooth and timely progress of innovations identified as portfolio opportunities
Close Communication and interaction with internal stakeholders (Sales, Medical, Trade, Finance, SC and Insights) and external partners (Global marketing and aligned agencies) and ensuring constant knowledge and understanding of the vision progress
Accurate and efficient management of A& P allocation
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS :
Education : Degree or relevant qualification preferably in marketing or business / economics.
Experience / knowledge required :
Fluent in English and Arabic
Excellent M.S Skills ( Excel PowerPoint) and Power Point
4-5 years experience as Brand Manager in a comparable company
Experience of reaching consumers via digital channels
Middle Experience is a plus
Soft Skills :
Strong thinking and analytic skills
Excellent presentation skills - written, verbal and presentation
Project leadership (in a cross functional environment)
Cultural savvy and sensitivity.
