Your main responsibilities will include : -
1). Project leadership :
Lead the project team, establish the project execution approach and oversee project hand-over, execution planning, and monitoring and control activities for both internal and external resources to accomplish all project goals.
2). Planning and scheduling :
Define, jointly with Project Controls department, all project plan documents, including scope and financial plans, schedule and risk management plans.
3). Project execution and control :
a. Ensure that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies.
b. Effectively monitors and controls project progress and efficient resource utilization.
c. Monitor and control project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow.
d. Identify, qualify, quantify and manage project risks, and ensure that all opportunities are identified and pursued.
e. Capture, analyze and share lessons learned throughout the project.
f. Ensure that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed.
g. Drive the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.
4). Health, safety and environment (HSE) :
Ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
5). Stakeholder relations :
a. Act as the key contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
b. Build and maintain strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.
c. Assure ABB commitments to customer are met, in accordance with contract.
d. Assure and seek to improve customer satisfaction and feedback through consistent customer interaction.
e. Work proactively to set customer expectation to assure a smooth project including acceptance of project deliveries and timely payment even under challenging circumstances.
6). Project financial and cost management :
a. Understand and use Full Cost Calculation / Model and different revenue recognition methods.
b. Understand project exposure.
c. Control project cost and cash flow.
d. Influence project expenditures to maximize cash flow.
7). Project risk and opportunity management :
a. Understand risks as well as what may be causing a change in risk exposure and action to avoid / mitigate.
b. Understand opportunities and how to take advantage of them.
c. Identify and mitigate risks associated with important aspects such as Health and Safety.
d. Proactively pursue decided upon mitigation efforts for identified risks.
e. Identify and act upon new risks and opportunities as they occur.
f. Assure avoidance / mitigation of liquidated damages and other penalties / claims.
8). Contract, claims and procurement management :
a. Ensure that the project consistently applies contract and claims management, in accordance with ABB policies and contractual agreements.
b. Coordinate with Supply Chain Management, and successfully procure all required services, materials and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers.
c. Support Supply Chain Management in supplier negotiations, claims and project changes.
9). Project reporting :
a. Forthrightly presents an account of project status / issues in project reviews.
b. Report status / progress to customer and other stake holders with appropriate detail for desired understanding, e.g. to assure payment, set expectation, etc.
c. Raise potential project issues to relevant stake holders.
d. Effectively report project progress or other situations either verbally or in writing to assure desired understanding.
10). Scope and change management for projects :
a. Utilize negotiation skills for scope and change management.
b. Is on top of scope including the possible overall impact of what may seem to be minor changes.
c. Negotiate change orders and additional sales.
d. Actively pursue desired changes in order to obtain additional sales, increase margin and to lower risk exposure.
Ideally you should have a bachelor's degree in engineering with minimum 5 years of domain experience in managing projects along with experience with projects of different size, complexity and contractual types.
