Department Definition

The Internal Audit Department is responsible for conducting independent and objective assurance reviews designed to add value and improve operational procedures within Expo.

The department evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls within the processes across departments thereby assisting to accomplish Expo’s objectives.

The Department ensures that its staff members conduct their activities in accordance with the Code of Ethics i.e. with utmost integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and competence.

Opportunity Responsibilities

The purpose of this role will be to assist the Senior Manager Internal Audit and other Internal Audit Department personnel in execution of the Internal Audit related Objectives, Performance Standards, Risk Based Internal Audit Plan and other Internal Audit related activities.

Main responsibilities of this role will include :

  • Assists in developing the Annual Risk Based Internal Audit Plan, Assists in the planning and execution of risk based audit projects;
  • Conduct field work in accordance with the audit program and test plans;
  • Identify key risks to business / process objectives, evaluate and test controls in place and identify areas for improvement;
  • Determine practical recommendations to mitigate the risks of internal control deficiencies while enabling the Expo programme objectives;
  • Assists in drafting reports documenting audit issues observed and gains consensuses on the recommendations from the auditee to device management actions;
  • Assists in preparing presentations of audit issues to Executive Committee and Audit Committee.
  • Skills

    4+ years experience in in a Big 4 Internal Audit and / or Internal Audit Department of any corporate or Government organization in the UAE as well as :

  • A Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting;
  • Experience in conducting Information Technology audits would be preferable;
  • Complete own work to the required quality standards and deliver work on time;
  • Interact with others in a manner that is respectful, patient, tolerant and understanding;
  • Excellent Business English writing skills, Transparency, integrity and honesty.
