Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking to recruit a Site HSE Manager to be deployed within a client Project Management Team in PMC capacity to assist in the management of a large EPC project which will be awarded in Q4 2018.

The successful candidate will be mobilised as of October 2018 and will initially be based in the client office in Abu Dhabi, UAE for few weeks before relocating to the successful EPC Contractor Home Office based in the UAE, India, Spain or Italy.

Award of the EPC Contract is expected in Q4 2018. Duration of the assignment in the EPC Home Office is expected to be around 8-

10 months, following which the candidate will relocate to client office or project onshore site in Abu Dhabi for the rest of the position assignment.

  • Provide the leadership and support necessary to ensure efficient Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSES) management.
  • The main aim being to create secure, safe and healthy working conditions throughout the site, while protecting the environment during both, construction and commissioning operations

  • Manage the duties and controls detailed by the Site HSES Plan, pertaining to health, safety, the environment and security requirements and ensure continuous compliance
  • Have an advanced level of understanding of the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001, and ensure sites are managed to these standards
  • Analyze and prepare project Monthly reports as required,
  • Coordinate and participate in site HSE Committee meetings, and be able to coordinate the contractors HSE activity at site
  • Broad Knowledge and experience in risk assessment and Audit processes
  • Implement the site construction HSE requirement, prepare HSE alerts as appropriate and implement improvements as necessary
  • Develop Construction Health, Safety and Environmental training schemes and presentations for all levels of staff
  • Participate in training, and development of HSE personnel, so that the HSE procedures and work practices are adequately communicated and understood
  • Participate in setting and implementing the HSE & Security business plan and objectives
  • Prepare appropriate reports and disseminate the report / matters arising throughout Construction Operations and others as necessary
  • Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 15-20-year experience as Site HSE Manager for large world class EPCC contracts of major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects.
  • A degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • Minimum of NEBOSH IGC or others
  • HSE Trainings / Qualifications will be added Advantage
  • Knowledge on construction HSE plan, objectives, ISO 9001, 14001, & OHSAS 18001
  • Well versed with Accident Prevention Methodologies & preparation of Incident / Accident Statistics, and reporting system
  • Knowledgeable of applicable Statutory regulations, National & International Standards, Codes, guidelines, OSHA, NFPA, Hazcon, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Audits / Inspection, Training
  • Excellent command of English language. Working knowledge of Spanish will be a plus
  • Good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate manner with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Highly motivated, well organized, resourceful and proactive
  • Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude
  • Willingness to relocate to overseas project
  • Experience working in Client Representative or PMC role will be preferred.
  • Experience working in Onshore Brownfield and Recent Desert Experience is required preferably UAE
